At BestFoodImporters, we’re continuously improving the platform to help food producers and exporters make their prospecting activities more efficient and better organized.

We’ve recently introduced three improvements designed to make it easier to search for potential buyers, manage exports and organize the companies you want to approach:

  • AI Search Dashboard — Use natural language to find companies that better match your products and export strategy.
  • Hide Exported Companies — Focus on new prospects without repeatedly reviewing companies you have already exported.
  • Improved My Lists — Organize potential buyers into multiple custom lists and build a prospecting workflow that fits your needs.

Here’s a closer look at each new feature.

1. AI Search Dashboard: Find Importers That Better Match Your Products

Traditional database filters are useful when you already know exactly which criteria you want to apply.

However, finding the right importer or distributor often involves more than selecting a country and a product category.

The new AI Search Dashboard offers BestFoodImporters users a more natural and flexible way to search for potential buyers.

Instead of relying only on standard filters, you can describe the companies you are looking for in your own words, similarly to how you would interact with an AI assistant.

The system can take into consideration different information available in the BestFoodImporters database, including:

  • Company size
  • Imported products and brands
  • Business specialization
  • Company type
  • Location
  • Other relevant company information

For example, a frozen fruit producer interested in expanding in Europe could search:

“Find importers and distributors of frozen fruit in Europe with between 50 and 500 employees.”

A premium olive oil producer could look for:

“Importers and distributors of premium olive oil in Germany and Austria.”

Or a snack manufacturer could search for:

“Food importers in Scandinavia working with healthy snacks, organic products and retail chains.”

This makes it easier to move beyond simply generating large lists of companies and start identifying potential buyers that more closely match your products and export strategy.

The AI Search Dashboard is available to BestFoodImporters subscribers as part of their subscription.

2. Hide Exported Companies: Focus on Fresh Opportunities

If you’ve been using BestFoodImporters for some time, you may already have exported hundreds or even thousands of companies from different markets.

When you return to a previous search, companies you have already exported can appear again, requiring additional time to determine which prospects are actually new.

The new Hide Exported Companies option makes this much easier.

Once activated, companies you have already exported are hidden from your search results, allowing you to focus exclusively on businesses you haven’t exported yet.

Why is this useful?

Imagine that you’ve already researched and exported a selection of food importers in Germany.

A few weeks later, you return to BestFoodImporters to identify additional prospects in the same market.

Instead of going through the same companies again, you can activate Hide Exported Companies and immediately concentrate on new potential partners.

The feature is also useful when working with very large searches.

If your selection contains several thousand companies, you can export part of the results, return to the search later and continue where you left off without manually checking which companies were already included in previous exports.

It’s a simple improvement that can save time, reduce repetitive work and make ongoing prospecting significantly easier to manage.

3. Improved My Lists: Organize Your Prospecting Your Way

Not every food producer or exporter approaches prospecting in the same way.

Some companies organize potential buyers by country. Others work by product category, market priority, sales representative or stage in the prospecting process.

The improved My Lists section gives you more flexibility to organize companies according to the way your business works.

You can now:

  • Create multiple custom lists
  • Add selected companies to the lists you create
  • Display companies from specific lists
  • Organize prospects around different markets, products or priorities
  • Update and manage your lists as your prospecting activities evolve

For example, you could create separate lists for:

German Importers

Frozen Food Buyers

Organic Food Distributors

SIAL Follow-up

You can then easily switch between the complete BestFoodImporters database and the companies included in your selected lists.

The result is a more organized workspace where prospect research can become part of a structured sales process rather than simply a collection of exported spreadsheets.

Less Time Managing Data, More Time Connecting With Buyers

These three updates have one common objective: helping food producers and exporters spend less time managing information and more time finding and approaching relevant business partners.

Whether you’re researching a new export market, expanding your existing distribution network or preparing your next sales campaign, the latest BestFoodImporters improvements can help make the process more efficient.
